  1. questionCan you recommend a good brand of hair for doing Fusion, and where can I get it?
Marquetta says high quality human hair should only be used for Fusion. It is very important to consult with your stylist/client to ensure your texture and color will match with what the two of you decide on. Marquetta likes to purchase her hair from http://www.hisandher.com

  2. questionCan you tell me more about weaving the full head without any hair hanging out?
What I like to do is leave the top and the sides out and braid the remaining portion straight back. I then sew the tracks across (from temple to temple) until I reach the top. You can use the client’s hair to close the weave in at the top.

  3. questionHow is Fusion glue removed? And is it damaging to my hair if i get it?
You can remove the fusion bond with this product: http://123wigs.com/wigstore/accessories/view.asp?id=600073 and it will dissolve the bond without damaging your hair.

  4. questionI just had a weave done and my scalp is very itchy. What should I do?
I recommend using Tea Tree oil. It is very soothing to an itchy scalp.

  5. questionI'm wearing a weave and the dye in the hair irritates my skin. Are there brands of tracks you can recommend that do not contain dye?
What will probably work best for you is an all-natural type of hair like cuticle or remy. These types of hair have never been processed with any chemicals or dyes - but they are very expensive. You can check out some of the pricing at www.hisandher.com.

  6. questionShould the weft cover the cornrows so that they can't be seen when it's sewn on?
Yes, the weft should cover the cornrows.

  7. questionWhat is an Interlock Weave?
An Interlock Weave has been around for quite some time. It is a method of cornrowing the hair while interlocking the extension hair within the cornrows. This technique is featured on my “Weave Compilation: Volume 1” DVD.

  8. questionWhat is the best hair to use for Interlock Weaving?
The good thing about Interlocking is that you can use any type of hair you want - the same hair that you use for braids (Braiding Hair or Bulk Hair). I prefer to use curly hair because in my opinion it’s easier to work with. However, all hair types are great to use.

  9. questionWhat is the Malaysian Sew-In?
It's a sewn-in method that's done with Micro Links with no cornrowing or bond.

  10. questionWhat's the difference between Treebraiding and Interlocking?
Treebraiding is basically a micro braid with the hair extending out of both sides of the braid, all the way down. Interlocking is a cornrow with hair extending out of both sides, all the way down. Depending on where your located, the names/techniques can be switched.

  11. questionWhen applying a weave, how do you make it undetectable?
You need to cornrow all of the hair straight back. After you do that, leave a retangular portion out at the top of the head to blend and cover the tracks. Sew the tracks in from temple to temple. You may want to either sprial curl or cornrow the hair that's left out in order to blend it properly.

  12. questionWhen doing a full weave (all hair cornrowed), how do you finish the weave? And is it hard to sew the tracks on with the hair all cornrowed backwards?
I never sew-in a weave with all hair cornrowed. I like to always leave a little bit of the client’s hair out for a more natural look. Most of the time when I’m doing a weave, the cornrowed section is always braided straight back. That way I can sew as many tracks on as I want to make ...

  13. questionWhen doing a weave, how do you decide how much space to leave between each stitch?
The amount of space left between each stitch depends on you or the client. You never want your stitches to be too far apart. If I know that my client is only planning on wearing a particular style for a short amount of time, I will space the stitches farther apart. If your client is planning on ...

  14. questionWhen doing a weave: if the weave hair is curly, do you weave the whole head?
Yes. When you weave a Curly Weave, you want to weave the whole head - unless the client has curly hair that will blend with the weave.

  15. questionWill I be able to do my own Interlock Weave from your "Weave Compilation: Volume 1"DVD?
You can definitely do your own Interlock Weave! It may be challenging at first, but it’s possible. Like I always say, practice makes perfect - so try to practice patience and I’m sure you will do just fine. What you want to do is this: instead of braiding your hair in a circle, braid ...
