Have you ever wondered why your favorite curling iron, or flat iron just didnt work quite right? Or, does is heavily smoke and smell when you get ready to use it? How about when you looked at the barrel or the curling iron, or the plates of the flat iron, were they covered with burned product?
Well, let me tell ya! I’ve been there and back with my tools, and for a very long time I just threw them away and purchased new ones until I researched and learned how to clean them properly.
If you’re a stylist, it’s really important to clean the flat iron/curling iron daily. I highly suggest doing this for sanitation purposes only. The best way to clean your curling iron/flat iron is to do so with a damp towel or cloth while the tool is still warm.
Be very careful when you do this, you dont want to burn yourself. You can also purchase a sanitizing spray from Sally’s also to sanitize the tool after each use. This spray is particularly great with clippers as well.
For your combs and brushes be rinse them once per week, and for your brushes you can get a brush cleaner to brush the dirt and excess hair out to help thoroughly clean the brush. Also use an antiseptic to ensure the sanitization of your brushes and combs.
If you follow these tips, your tools will last you a long time. Keep them clean and sanitized and you’ll be good to go for the future!
