“Sealing” Micro Braids
| Written by Marquetta A. Breslin | Topics: Hair Stuff |
Lately I’ve had several questions asked about how to “seal” the ends of micro braids. Here is just a bit of insight on two different ways that it can be done.
Glue - This method is done with nail glue. The hair is braided to the desired length and the stylist then adds a drop of glue to keep the braid from unraveling. If this method is not done correctly the client’s hair can be glued by accident causing the client to cut her own hair in the process of taking the braids out (I have heard horror stories).
So before you go with this method make sure to have a consultation with your stylist first. Knots - This method is done by tying a small knot at the desired length of the braid. If this method is done incorrectly it may cause breakage. Breakage may occur when the stylist is tying the knot by using some of the client’s hair instead of the synthetic or human hair.
