Micro Braid Slippage

Hello everyone! Lately I’ve been getting a lot of questions concerning Micro Braid Slippage. Most questions have been about how to stop the braid from unraveling. There are several ways to approach this issue. Some stylists use glue, tie knots, or use spritz. In my experience I have found that using spritz is sometimes best for the client. I just braid down past the clients hair and spray spritz on the braids for an extra hold. I do not spray a ton of spritz but, just enough to add an extra hold. The braid should not be stiff after using spritz.

The down side to this is that it may itch. I have received several e-mails from individuals who would like to know the effects of using glue to seal the ends of braids. Using glue to seal the ends can accidentally glue the client’s real hair making it extremely difficult to take the braid out without having to cut it out.

I do not recommend using this technique only because of the damage that it may cause. The Knotting method is very popular. In my opinion this method is better than the glue however, if it’s not done properly it can also be damaging. Sometimes the client’s hair may be mistakenly knotted and this may cause some breakage.

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to try and use the spritz.. That seems easier for me because I really dont want to take my chance and glue my own hair. So hopefully the spritz works for me. Again THANKS
