It is very important to consult with a professional stylist before getting any hair style for the first time. Although cornrows are beautiful, they can be damaging to the hair if not done correctly.
It is crucial to make sure that your cornrows are not braided too tight. Cornrows that are woven too tightly can pull the hair out from the roots, mostly around the edges.
Cornrows cannot be washed. Trying to wash your hair while it's cornrowed will make your cornrows unravel very quickly. When created properly, your cornrows should last 2 to 4 weeks. To help protect your new braids, try tying your hair in a silk scarf each night when you go to bed. If your hair starts to get too frizzy, use a bit of gel before tying the scarf.
These simple tips will help you achieve great-looking cornrows that last.
