Create A Personal Hair Care Schedule

If you're like most women in today's hectic world, you probably take care of yourself only when it's absolutely necessary. However, if you are frequently in the public eye - or if you simply want to feel good about your appearance - maintaining a polished, attractive hair style is vital.

Some women actually schedule standing salon appointments for the same time each week, months in advance. Others call when they notice brittle ends or fading hair color.

It might be helpful to keep an eye on your personal calendar to get an idea of the best time each month to see your salon specialist. For example, if your job keeps you extra- busy the last week of the month - with the first week of the following month a little lighter in activity - plan to book your appointment then, when life is less stressful. This way you can enjoy your appointments more - and not have to cancel due to a demanding schedule.

Hair care services, when routinely scheduled, might follow a plan like this:

Monthly: Get a cut or trim, deep conditioning, and styling.

Every other month: Get color applied all over, or to the roots only.

Every three months: Get a consultation with your stylist to discuss changes in your health, job, or public image which may require a new look. Also ask about any new available services that you may want to try.

Once a year: Evaluate the quality, cost, and adaptability of your favorite salon. Are its stylists keeping up with new trends and hair treatments ... or have they fallen hopelessly behind? If it's the latter, you may want to look around for a more up-to-date salon.

Having a well-planned hair care schedule makes it easy to keep your hair looking its best year-round!
