Hair Myths And Misconceptions
Myths are harder to beat than facts. Some of these common myths may heavily influence the way you care for your hair - and may be causing it more harm than good. The twenty most common hair myths are as follows:
1. Hair grows rapidly if it is trimmed often.
2. Split ends cannot be repaired.
3. Brushing your hair is going to make it long and healthy.
4. Tight hats are responsible for baldness.
5. Hair can go gray suddenly.
6. If you pluck one or two gray hairs, others follow.
7. Hereditary baldness comes from a mother's side.
8. Dandruff results from dry hair.
9. Dandruff is a contagious problem.
10. Cutting your hair during full moon will make it healthier and lustrous.
12. Hair grows at a uniform pace.
13. Hair texture remains the same no matter how you treat it.
14. If you shave your baby's scalp, you can change his or her hair texture.
15. Virgin root hairs do not require special care.
16. Blow-drying causes the hair to smoke.
18. Gray hair can only be covered by permanent hair color.
19. Conditioner does not provide any benefit as it is rinsed out of the hair.
