Busy Or Not, It's Time To See Your Stylist!

Today's busy woman may not realize she's overdue for a hair appointment until she gets a good look in the mirror - and realizes how long it's been since she set foot in a salon! Although some ladies wait until unruly locks or a frazzled look sends them clamoring for professional aid, many schedule routine hair care appointments on a weekly, monthly, or bi-monthly basis.

Human hair typically grows about a quarter-inch each month. Depending on the style you are wearing, you may need to trim lengthy bangs or dead ends on a monthly basis. Even if you are growing out your hair, a trim every six weeks or so to keep hair neat and even is a good idea. While you may not want to schedule a standing appointment, you might want to keep an eye on the calendar to book a visit every other month or so.

In addition to regular haircuts, you will want to see your stylist for hair care services like deep conditioning, coloring, relaxing, braiding, or styling appointments. If your stylist also offers auxiliary services, you could have your eyebrows waxed, get your nails done, or enjoy a refreshing facial.

Some view a hair salon as an obligatory visit (and expense) that they must grudgingly make only when absolutely necessary. Others look forward to this heavenly escape to the world of beauty and glamour where they can focus on themselves for a change instead of job, family, or home.

Between maintenance sessions, be sure to see your stylist if a problem develops. Potential issues include root regrowth between color treatments, uneven ends following a cut, and so on. Your consultant has been trained and licensed to offer quality hair care, so take advantage of it whenever time and budget permit.

Trust me, I know how hectic life can get! But I encourage you to always make the time for those salon visits. Looking your best will fill you with confidence and energy that will serve you well in all areas of your life.
