Tips For Hair That Won't Grow

It's not always easy to achieve long, strong and healthy hair. There is no overnight remedy for growing out hair; it's a process which takes great patience and care. Hair typically grows about six inches a year, however, certain factors can facilitate or stunt its growth.

How to maximize hair growth

It is important to maintain the correct nutritional balance of your body if you wish to have long and healthy hair. Hair thinning and baldness may result from a nutritional deficiency. Furthermore, hormonal imbalances resulting from an underactive or overactive thyroid gland may turn hair frizzy or greasy. To maximize growth, try taking a proper blend of vitamin B-complex and amino acids.

Beta-carotene helps promote normal growth and keeps hair, nails and skin in good condition by building a protective sheath around nerve fibers. Some great sources of Beta-carotene are fruit and green and yellow vegetables.

Protein is also vital for hair growth. Hair itself is a protein, so a diet low in protein directly affects hair texture and condition. Soy protein has been found to strengthen the hair and enable it to grow.

Knowing which factors inhibit hair growth is the first step in avoiding them. Excessive stress is one factor that tends to slow the normal growth of hair. To fight stress, take up meditation and make sure you get sleep. Some medications can also affect hair growth adversely. Fortunately, these effects usually cease once the medication is stopped.

Healthy hair is an important measure of your general health. If you want to ensure speedy hair growth, you must maintain a healthy body.
