Ten Great Tips For Coloring Hair

Hair dying is a common practice nowadays, one that is shared by women, men, and teenagers alike. It is not only used for covering up gray hair, but is also used for changing your hair shade to the color of your choice. You may dye your hair natural black, brown, blonde, red, auburn, or any other shade. Although it's best to dye your hair at the salon, you may also do it at home.

Before dying your hair, it's important to remember a few tips:

1. Before beginning the dying process, make sure that you read all instructions on the package.

2. Conduct a patch test on your skin to determine if you are allergic to the product. Apply a little of it under your arm or behind your ear, and wait for any adverse reactions within two hours (such as itching or redness). This test should be 24-48 hours before application of hair dye.

3. Next, apply a little on a few strands of your hair to see it produces desired color.

4. You need to condition your hair for a few weeks before dying so that the color you choose to put in remains strongest.

5. Apply little face cream or petroleum jelly around hairline or ears to keep off stains.

6. Use hair color immediately after mixing and throw off any remainder.

7. Better not to use hair dye on damaged hair. Similarly do not use hair dye on eyebrows and eyelashes.

8. It is better to stay clear of sun, chlorine, and seawater after dying your hair. You need to avoid heat styling on dyed hair to preserve color for longer time.

9. Do not rub dye into scalp. Use gloves before applying hair dye yourself.

10. Keep hair dye on hair only for particular time as stated in instructions for application. Shampooing hair after dying adds to its luster. Usage of mousse increase hair color.
