Hair Color For Today's Teenager

If you are a teenager, you probably like to experiment with different hairstyles every now and then. More often, you feel inclined towards fashionable styles and like to keep up with your peers. Some of you prefer styles which make you look slightly older. Others prefer "funny" or whimsical hairstyles. However, since the success of most hairstyles depends on hair color, it is best to choose a style which fits your natural shade.

Different hair colors suit different styles. The shape of your face also dictates hairstyle. Generally-speaking, long faces look better with short hair, while round faces work well with slightly long hair.

Blonde hair

Hair, by nature, is dry and prone to "frizz". To prevent hair breakage from blow-drying, it's a good idea to use a moisturizing conditioner. Conditioners containing silk proteins can also enhance the quality of your hair. Rub a little of it into your hands and apply from hair ends to roots to add extra bounce and shine to blonde hair.

Brown Hair

A "bobbed" hair style with layers works best for brown hair. You can further experiment with this hair style by curling the ends and using gel or hairspray to hold the shape. You might choose to have different shades of brown in the different hair layers, proceeding from lighter shades on top to darker ones at the bottom.

Red Hair

Firey red hair is a prominent display of style. Red hair works wonderfully with all hair styles. Different shades of red include dark copper, fire-engine red, and strawberry blonde.

All different colors of hair need proper nourishment and care. It's important that you shampoo once a week to remove dirt and excess oils. In addition, oil your scalp and hair regularly to improve moisture content. When combing hair, run the comb slowly through smaller sections and don't brush roughly with strong strokes. It's also a good idea to get your hair trimmed every six weeks to prevent split ends and maintain a neat appearance.
